Decorating our home by exposing art of quality, but without spending a fortune, today is possible thanks to the new digital printing technologies, which allow to get a very high image quality.
Giclée or Fine art prints are reproductions of the original artwork over high quality art paper. If they are reproductions of drawings, watercolors, or inks, they are so beautiful that it is difficult even to notice at first glance the difference from the original. It is different if it comes to reproducing oil paintings, or works that contain some material in relief, often we can notice it in acrylic color artworks as well.
Art prints are of little value and interest of collectors, but we can use it at the best to decorate and customize our space and spend very little.
Artists in recent years, also using digital technologies, they has excited about composing ever-many diverse works, and that they may thus encounter the taste of a diverse audience of art lovers.
A right compromise between the original and the reproduction can be found in prints on vintage book’s pages, often printed on old dictionaries, I have never used them beceause paper is almost always very thin and inks of the printer can very wet the paper making it curled. Even if they are of inferior quality to giclée or fine art prints, the measurements are usually constrained to remain small, these works are still a great find to create a modern space but at the same time lived, well mingled with any vintage or Shabby Chic or Country style furniture, but they do not exclude the possibility of being inserted in a totally modern context, to be preferred in light, white, but also plumbean, linear and monochromatic contexts.
